How to Download Books from a Mac to BookZ? No 3rd-party utilities required!

Converting PDFs to Text Files

1. Open the PDF file with Adobe Reader
2. Edit->Select All
3. Edit->Copy
4. Fire up TextEdit on the Mac or Wordpad in Windows, paste the text
4a If you are using TextEdit, you need to “Format”->”Make Plain Text”
5. Save-as (use UTF8 encoding for best compatibility).

BookZ Safari Trick (Thanks to David)

Whenever you encounters a txt file that could not be opened, chances are this file is HTML-text mixture rather than plain text. To process the file,

0. Open the file with TextEdit. In TextEdit, “Format”->”Make Plain Text”

1. Save the file to “file.html”

2. Open “file.html” with Safari, “Edit”->”Select All” and copy everything

3. Paste it into a new document in TextEdit

5. “Format”->”Make Plain Text”

6. Save the file using “UTF8″ as encoding
